Safety Signs for Warehouses

Plan the signs people may need from the entrance through working areas, facilities, escape routes and emergency points.

Plan pedestrian and forklift routes together. Check loading areas, racking, battery charging, machinery, PPE points, restricted zones, fire equipment, first aid and emergency exits from every normal approach.

Plan signs by area, not by pack

A fixed sign pack cannot reflect every building, activity or occupant. Walk the normal routes, record the message and position, then choose the material and size. Remove duplicated or outdated signs that create confusion.

Keep the schedule current

Recheck signs when the layout, use, staff, equipment or emergency plan changes. Replace damaged, faded or obstructed signs and explain unfamiliar messages.

  3. Check fire points, escape directions and emergency equipment.
  4. Note the fixing surface, lighting and likely viewing distance.
  5. Review the final schedule against the site risk assessment.
